    Nikon prices up another 10% in March (UK)

    This is what is being said in the UK and I presume it could well impact everywhere else.
    So if your contemplating a purchase now could be a good time.

    Hi there
    When you consider that, in the autumn, there were 200 yen to the pound, and that now there are only around 130 - the only surprising thing is that the price rise is only 10%

    Just this guy you know

    Hi Jono
    That is another 10% on top of recent rises.
    Had a play with the zeiss 16-35 f2.8 for the sony, very, very nice. But the lens I really liked was the 135 f1.8. People go on about how big and heavy this stuff is. They were obviously never wildlife photographers. I find them OK and as you know I'm not exactly a supremely honed athlete.
    But I resisted the temptation and the prices were good. a900 1500 and 135 just less than 1000.
    Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

    Just to underline how much Nikon prices have gone up in the UK, I compared some items in their latest price list (03/09) with one from December 2007. All recommended retail, street prices will be lower, prices in including our (slightly) reduced sales tax in the latest numbers.

    D3: 3399 -> 3999
    85mm f1.4: 879 -> 1099
    600mm f4: 6499 -> 8699 (!)
    200-400mm f4: 4499 -> 5899
    12-24mm DX: 799 -> 999
    18-200mm DX: 549 -> 679
    50mm f1.8: 89 -> 129
    14-24mm f2.8: 1249 -> 1599
    24-70mm f2.8: 1149 -> 1499

    Well the street prices certainly are lower. I would use Grays of Westminster's prices as a good barometer.

    Now if I just had a spare $8000 sitting around I'd grab a 600 VR that people actually seem to have in stock in the UK.
