I had it several years ago, and it worked surprisingly well on f/2.8 lenses, even with the cameras I combined it with then (D300 and Fuji S5). AF was fine except for subjects that came straight towards me. Sharpness was good too, st least with the 80-200 AF-S. Still I sold it. A used 300mm f/4 AF is quicker, sharper and renders much nicer. It's also cheaper than a new Nikkor TC.
