Nikon D3 repair

Hey guys, can anyone tell me if the D3 is still repairable parts wise? Had a little fall today and cracked the top cover from an impact to the right strap lug and a scratch on the bottom cover. I've contacted Nikon Canada and am thinking APS.

Sounds like you have an answer already. Is the camera still working?

As far as I can tell the everything is ok. Just heard back from Nikon and i'ts un repairable. Insurance will cover it but I really like the pro body. I might be able to get a D4 as a replacement so I'll have to wait and see what the insurance company says.

The unreparable answer is from Nikon USA and Canada,—not necessarily by an independent repairman. If you base your decisions upon what the compansies say, you would never be able to have a working camera. Unfortunately, Nikon has gone the way of our throwaway society.

This might give an idea of what's actually repairable...

Thanks for the suggestions guys. For what I paid for the camera it really wasn’t worth fixing considering the age. Insurance covered the damage and I wrote the camera off and bought a new D850 and a couple of lenses so it‘s all good. I may still pick up a nice D4 later on.
