    Nikon D6

It seems odd that we have not seen posts here about the D6. Apparently some people have posted reviews somewhere, I forget which ones I saw and where but has anyone on this forum actually bought a D6?

Dave, you'll find much more discussion of the D6 on Fred Miranda's website (https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1649198) than you'll find here. Historically, GetDPI hasn't been a landing spot for DSLR wildlife and sports photographers. Also try the DPReview forum (https://www.dpreview.com/forums/1021).

    Thanks, Joe!

I finally found enough time and energy to visit that forum and I am awed by the D6!!! Amazing work!!!!!!

I don't really understand why there are apparently no D6 users here.

GetDPI was originally created by a few individuals who were passionate about medium format photography. While the subject matter in the GetDPI forums has broadened, the concentration has continue to be medium format. One only has to look at the number of viewers to see that:

The DSLR and mirrorless gearhead forums are more active on Fred Miranda's site and on DPReview. Guy Mancuso, one of the founders of GetDPI, hangs out on the FM Sony forum. Nikon users have a bunch of forums - Nikonians, Nikon Cafe, Nikonites, Planet Nikon, Nikon Rumors...

For specific camera information and images, I'd recommend Fred Miranda's forums. It's civil, well administered, and very active.

Jørgen (J), walking into camera shop, car parked outside: - Just hand it over!
Camera shop owner (O): - Hand over what?
J: You know what I mean, the D6.
O: Oh that... the new Nikon antique.
J: Yes, no need to wrap it up, I'll start using it right away.
O: You don't mind if I keep that car in exchange, do you?
    J: But it's new!
O: Exactly, and you can pay the difference in price within the next 36 months

There are good reasons why he drives an AMG and I drive a Mazda

    Thanks, Joe,
Great review, but my ears fell off halfway, so have to watch the rest today. Boy, that man talks a lot. Photos look fantastic, but I have a feeling that he could have made great photos using a shoebox with a piece of expired Kodachrome taped to the inside

    Re: Nikon D6

    Well, now...

The next question is the tough one. How large can one realistically print an image from the new D6? I am presuming that the sensor is the same as the D5, so there should be quite a few who can answer the print question.

Yes, my question comes from my experience with several 50mp Medium Format cameras.

As for the camera itself, it is almost too much. I mean that in a good way, while acknowledging that the manual itself probably weighs more than the body... LOL.

    Enjoy the weekend everyone!
