Beautiful image. You caught a very nice moment, and I find a certain irony in the FedEx sign in the background.

    Lovely images of Bali Leica77!

I feel I should apologize for all these flower pictures I've been posting. It's not normally my favorite thing. A step up from endless pictures of my dog maybe, but still. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to travel anywhere exotic lately and for sure the Uber Cars never get this far North. In any case, a simple Black Eyed Susan or two in quiet celebration of summer.

Flowers turned into works of art need no apology. (I know what you mean, however. I'm the same about shooting flowers. At least they hold somewhat still.)

Speaking of flowers... I got some wildflowers pix today.

Had to work for it... new snow up there at 10,000 ft. Pretty cold, wet start, but warmed up to about 50F (10C), and the skies cleared by the time we were finished.

    5-shot Pano:

    Oh yeah... I said flowers, didn't I?:

Actually, they were pretty abundant... and even visible once the snow melted:

One my wife took with her cell phone:

Sorry... a bit "off topic", as I took these with my pocket Canon digicam. But I don't know anyone on the Canon thread.

Thanks again, L77. Always appreciate your comments.

Here's another pano from today. A little earlier, before the skies cleared, and a slightly different look.. further east.

And one last one from today:

Outstanding images, viablex1! I really like the last one -- a classic wooden structure. It is very nice to see fine grained photos! All the best, Leica 77

Thanks Tim. It was a fun day. (Those river shots are from viablex1) The water in the background of the shot my wife took is a small, mountain lake. We've been a little dry here for the last month, but not atypical for this time of year. Mountain thunderstorms most afternoons... hence the wildflowers and tall grasses.

Sorry about the confusion Lloyd. I often find it difficult to sort the thread out when there are so many responses that include repeats of the original images. Perhaps except when we want to comment on a specific image we could remove the original photos from our response. Just a suggestion.

    - Lloyd, your shot of frost and talk of cold is getting me through this hot, sweltering 90F+ day here, thanks.

    - Leica 77, I really like your funeral procession on several levels. The Fedex sign in the background shows how small the world is and the variety of the ladies in that shot remind me of how Indonesia is home to many different types of beautiful people making up one amazing country.

    - Alex, I guess Moscow is as hot as it is here NYC because I want to do exactly what those pilots are doing, only that we're allow to.

    - Jorgen, I can smell, hear and feel the atmosphere of your train shot, even touch the passengers if I wanted to!

    Hello ddk,
Many thanks for your kind comments. I was also fascinated by the FedEx sign when I followed the village funeral procession in Ubud. As you pointed out rightly, Indonesia's national slogan is "Unity in Diversity". Best regards, Leica 77

    Thank you for your replies!

ddk, I just realized that I translated the name of the forces completely wrong! They're Airborne Troops ... or Airborne Forces. The guys are a little bit nuts. I've never seen pilots celebrating like this.

I would like your comments on the following with regard to the processing. I sent this to a friend and was told in reply that it was too contrasty and the white of the t-shirt was blown out. I'm beginning to question my monitor calibration and would like to hear from you specifically about your take on the processing. I'm completely aware of all the negatives associated with tobacco, so please ignore that if you can. And thank you!

Tim. I don't know how it's coming across to anyone else, but it's certainly not blown out. The highest white value I could find is 239, so no white clipping at all. On top of that, there are a lot of great things going in that image. Art, for sure.

Don't know what your friend was talking about, it neither contrasty nor has any blown out areas that I can see. I'm surprised that you're doubting yourself Tim, your images are always among the best processed I've seen.

I'm in agreement with Lloyd and David. Perhaps your friend has the monitor issue.

    Hello TRSmith,
I am also in agreement with Lloyd, ddk, and TEBnewyork. The white of the t-shirt looks excellent on my monitor. The contrast also looks just right to me. In addition, I like the composition of the image. Best regards, Leica 77
