Thanks, I'm honored. I agree about the processing. I'm still playing with it.

    Here's the color version:

And another from the same afternoon:

    Hi Lloyd,

Both versions (color and B&W) are equally fantastic! All the best, Leica 77

Seconding Tim though, i'm under the impression that the extra (somehow artificial?) processing might not serve some of these outstanding photos, the clouds in particular.
    Corlan,

I understand completely that you may not care for the treatment. At some point, I may redo this series with a very different PP approach, but for now, I'm enamoured with the artificiality of the process. What can I say, I like what I like (for now at least)!

    Best,

There are at least 30,000 temples in Thailand. That's one for each 2,000 citizen, and as of today, there's one more, with the groundbreaking ceremony completed in the middle of a very a muddy rice field.

It's equally impressive, very nice color processing.
The BW version with its added mystery and serenity still has my -slight- preference.

On the other it's very possibly what makes it such a great shot. And for sure all the more commendable.

    Lloyd,
The colour version is beautiful too, but I prefer the drama of the b&w.

Jorgen, this is full of life and details.
They're all so focused on their immediate task -even though some seems to be enticed sparing some extra-attention for you

P.S. the camera hanging from the official wrist's nice touch... or some paradoxical anachronism depending on how one's looking at it.

Ok, this is taken with a Nikon, so I guess it qualifies. It's from 1981 and taken with (I think) the F3 I still have. It was a slide that I scanned this morning for the heck of it. Made it B&W. A genuine oldie.

Great shot, Tim. I really like this as a b/w. (BTW, I still have, and even occasionally use an F3 I purchased in 1981.)

Went with my brother and a couple of his friends for a couple of hours on the river this morning. I fished for a while, but most shot pix of them. WE happened to hit a Caddis hatch, and the fishing was hot as firecracker for a while.

It certainly feels that way to me sometimes. Not that there's anything wrong with sharp corners.

    Corlan,

Your bench photo reminded me of a similar photo I took a couple of weeks ago. Great vignette, by the way!

I'm not that much of a fisherman anymore either, but I do love to go out. Shooting pix was enough for me... I probably fished for 25% of the time we where there. These guys I was with are artists with a flyrod, and it was fun just to watch.

Overcast weather yesterday... this is a couple of hours before nightfall. The clouds layers shaped into an peculiar light structure.

Autumn is doing its best already around here. Which also means the afternoon sun is getting low; at the same time sending some nice beams of light through the trees here and there.

Those are really wonderful, Leif. A those b/w conversions are about as good as it gets.

I too love the light angle this time of year (although at your latitude you are ahead of us here for certain).

Interview with Italian chef. Camera in one hand, pen in the other, more or less

I've been wondering about that Sigma 50mm for portraits sometimes, but is it really four times better than this?

Thanks Lloyd, and Jorgen. I liked this simple piece of old, deep coutryside landscape down the -small- road. There was indeed a timeless earthy athmosphere... stopped there for 20 minutes after taking the shot, for no other reason than breathe calmly.

Leif, really like the wood boards. Btw 8 PM is not that bad for night time
