Some eagles from last year's trip to the Khutzeymateen, British Columbia. I'm culling the files and finding some "new" images to PP, or re-PP. Look at that white moss hanging down. Thanks for looking. Cheers.

Great shots, Matt. Love to make it up there sometime. BTW, it may be my monitor, but the trunk of that tree looks a little lavender to me.

A couple more from the photowalk. Mimi actually does get on the other side of the camera at times.

Lloyd, Beautiful shot of Mimi! I was watching the Ironman Triathlon on tv yesterday & thinking of your wife & a few of my cycling buddies that do them!
Just unreal! I was more impressed with the people that were coming in 20 + Hrs later! There were a few without legs that competed & a guy that was 79 who had done it 20yrs straight! Amazing people!

Matt...Eagle set was just IQ at it's finest!

Viablex...Great IQ & Mad Max Feel!

Even though she's obviously a super active person, you should invite her to post some more

Thanks Corlan, I'll pass that on. She probably will post a few from time to time. She has a great eye, and I'm always impressed with how differently she'll interpret something when we're shooting together.

Seconding that... the whole series is super nice, and from the stuff posted by Steve here it sounds that the combination of the D3 with the Noct produces quite interesting and kinda different results, with an swell artistic feel.

Matto, your ruin porn never ceases to amaze.
When first seeing your photos months ago, my initial thought that you were taking risks encountering with less than friendly peopke in that kind of places. Now it looks more and more like you're facing other hazards... such as being on the bitter end of a falling heavy piece of metal, couch, or piano etc.

First snow yesterday morning here... Today we got a couple of inches thick, uniform white blanket but in the meantime, between two falls, snow had melted under the sun forming interesting patterns.

    "LA" snow...

Exquisite as usual. Lots of style and punch, and your b&w conversions really give the photos a "filmic" look.

Those are both nice, Lloyd, but you should send your lens in for service. There's a lot of white fringing on that fence, and I don't think it can be corrected in ACR

Oh... thanks for calling that to my attention. I'm boxing it up to send to Nikon now!!

Great shots at the beach, and of the boats. I like the natural framing (or encircling?) I envy your warm weather too.

    Jorgen , love the framing!

Caught this guy in the neighbor's yard during our Massive snowstorm in Boston yesterday, looking for food....

I guess the title must be "Holiday Card"!
    Gorgeous, Steve.
And kinda fun, which doesn't hurt.

Talking about little birds looking for food in the snow, i was less lucky yesterday...

Apparently at some extremes, the VR can't help you
I don't understand though, the shooting technique was nearly, er, flawless... almost night time, ISO up the roof, one hand gently throwing seeds to the bird in order to get closer, shooting one-handed the D700 with grip & 105VR with the other one...

That's a beauty, Steve. And I think NOT calling it that would be a cardinal sin.

Good effort... the throwing seeds worked, at least.

But you're right Lloyd, always take the positive side of an experiment...
And obviously beside the poor light, 100mm is way too short for shooting such easy to scare, small birds... simply pushed the VR to unreasonnable limits. A great success in this regard
