Sigma DP1

I was in Hollywood for a couple of days. Most of the time was spent in meetings, but I did get a chance to take some photos along Hollywood Boulevard with my DP1. I'm afraid I couldn't resist and went over the top in processing this one with Lightroom.

Thanks, Helen and Brian.

Helen, I really like the Dlux 3 photo. Even cartoon characters deserve some time off.

Here's the first Hollywood image again using a different style of processing.

Here are the other Hollywood images with this second style of processing, which I think I prefer overall for this series (less grungy, more photo-realistic).

Ooops Sorry David (I called you Will )
Thanx for the Dlux comment

I much prefer your Firstt PP 'LOOK'
To my eye theres more Atmosphere & Drama
than the second style of Processing

Best- H :)

That's good feedback, Helen. Thanks. I'm amazed how different an image can look just by tweaking a few dials and skewing the results towards a specific color.

Yes, I agree with Helen, I much prefer the tonality of your first shots David - there's an old film feel to them, great stuff!

Kind Regards

Brian

Here's another Hollywood shot using the grunge processing. These shops were just off Hollywood Boulevard.

Good ones, Helen.

I especially like the first with its wide range of rich colors and textures. That's where the DP1 really excels. Happy hunting.

Helen, I missed something along the way. What was the problem with your first DP1?
The Lcd screen was abnormally Dim & Blurry /and on occasion would blank out

Its Night & Day the difference between what I originally had
and this one
The colors & saturation on the screen are crisp & focused
YEA!!
