Picked up a DP1 on eBay yesterday. It's a little wonky, but I'll take that for the IQ. The files seem to have a lot of meat to them and respond well to PP. These are all heavily monkeyed with, except the one at Peet's is straight out of the camera except a little brightening of the Peet's sign at the top.

Some lovely DP1 shots there - you've got the reds just right too. Well Done.

My favourites are the dog portrait and with the girl... really nice.

Have you updated your firmware to version 2? the zoom buttons can be configured as 2 custom functions (very useful) - we're still waiting for better controls for manual focusing though.

    Thanks for sharing

    Kind Regards

Thanks, Brian! I just got the camera off eBay a few days ago and wanted to make sure it works properly before updating the firmware. This one came with a Voigtlander viewfinder, which I think will not only be handy, but often a necessity.

    Hey!
Who's complaining about the quality of the kit lens.
Try getting corners like that on a Canikon cheap kit lens.
    Nice photo too!

    I Like it!
I like the lens too, although it does lose the plot a bit at the edges on the A900

But it's a great shot - that look suggests more than bread!

Hi Joe, Great B&W street work, as usual. Are you still shooting with your Zeiss glass and the ZI as well? I'm looking forward to trying some of my M mount Zeiss and CV lenses with the little G1.

Every time I look at this thread there are more and more wonderful shots. It's inspiring to see all of you talented people using all these amazing cameras! The little G1 certainly is holding its own amongst them, I am getting more and more tempted but will have to wait and keep watching.
    Great work, all!

my resistance is weakening by the minute.
    How is the focusing?
How do you do the aperture (do you have to stop down manually)

Re: Fun pictures with Oly, Sony, Sigma, Pentax and all the Others

    Thanks Jono,

the focusing is pretty good - selecting the magnified view is a case of pressing the little left arrow followed by the OK button... the magnified view times out after 8 secs, or until you half press the shutter release button.

The LVF gains up, so you can still frame perfectly well - the display refresh just slows down a little.

All in all, it's the best option for manual focusing at the moment...

As an aside, there's less vibration on shutter release, so you can hand hold to a lower speed I think.

    Kind Regards

    Brian

    Brian

Does the Hexanon fit directly on the 4/3 adapter?? Is no other adapter necessary??

How hard is it to focus?? At the time of exposure do you stop down the lens (in aperture priority) and watch the shutter speed to know when to stop adjusting??

Re: Fun pictures with Oly, Sony, Sigma, Pentax and all the Others

    Hi Martin,

I've converted my Hexanon lenses to 4/3rds mount following this method, by Pete Snaar.

You can shoot in a variety of modes with legacy lenses, Aperture Priority, Manual, Program, various scene modes (like indoor sports etc)... it's pretty robust in how it handles shooting.

If you press the 'Quick Menu' button, you can get access to ISO, WB, a variety of parameters in the LVF - it's damned good imho... definitely the future for me.

    Kind Regards

    Brian
