Pentax came out this week with a version 1.10 firmware and they do not go over details what things this fixed, but it already has been observed:
- Focus peaking- and it works in conjunction with the magnification. You need to set it to on under the focus menu options (AF or MF depending which mode you are in)
- Movies before took like 2-3 seconds have their sound to start being recorded. This is not completely fixed but not takes about 1/2-1 second to do so
- AF speed has speed up a notch (seen a video of before/after).
- AF in lower light seems to have improved slightly (more ability to focus vs "giving up") - need to test this more to make sure but seems like it.
- Tav mode is now effectively added to the Q in M mode. Basically you set the aperture and shutter speed, camera picks the ISO for you. Just set the ISO to Auto in M mode, and you are in K-7's/K-5's Tav mode.
Probably other minor or stability improvement stuff we have not noticed yet.
I must say it's amazingly nice that Pentax is doing this. They are really committed to the Q.
