Maybe you try a pro profile for YOUR printer !
I've tried the profile form Canson and the one from Ilforld Gold Silk (very similar paper... confusing ! ) and finally went for a custom profile form www.cmp.com
so far, so good... without RIP.
Rip are good for workflow, but on today printers, if you have a custom profile, it will be as good color wise !
A friend of mine is using MIRAGE, is really happy with it !
