HP z3200 and Alt Process printing

    hp digital negatives

Low & high value separation with the HPz3100 was difficult to manage (could be done.. but took a lot of work)

HP provided a in printer profile so no aggresive curves are necessary to linearize out of Photoshop.

Was never able to get this image's low values exactly the way I wanted.. until now

    Cesium Platinum print.. 6x6"

Could not get the tonal gradation in the high end previously either.

(there's texture from the paper in the scan as well.. so the print looks better/smoother)

(This is a Lithium Palladium print, rather than Cesium. much more neutral tone)

    Jim,

Are you doing the final platinum print stage too or is this farmed out?

doing all of it.. with digital negs, it's an easier process than silver

(you do it in a dim room.. not dark )
