recommendations for notecards

What is the best way to produce notecard packs? For example, I have a b&w shell series of 10 shells. I'd like to put a pack together of 10 notecards, one of each shell/image.

Anyone found a good print vendor that can do this without having to do really large quantities?

How do you do notecards?

I print notecards myself, using my Epson 3800 with Crane Museo Artist Cards (available from inkjetart.com). Very nice-quality matte cards.

Of course, printing them yourself is slow if you plan to do a large quantity.

I print them myself as well. A friend of mine also does reasonably large quantities himself as well.

Lots of the on-line print houses do them now as well. Printroom is one that I tried long ago and they messed the orders up, but more importantly to me, they were just too ordinary looking for my taste. Small orders were no problem.

Lisa mentioned Crane's Museo card stock; Red River Paper also sells several paper types and sizes pre-scored for folding, and Hahnemuhle has an offering as well.

If you do decide to print them yourself, be aware that some printers struggle with the feeding of note card stock, so you may want to look into that. In fact, whether or not you use Red River products, they do have useful info on their site or you can talk with them about some of the feeding issues, etc.

Sorry, not really an answer to your question.

I wanted to be able to sell a pack of 8 cards for $10-$15 so I decided to go with card stock approach. ClearBags had some good alternatives. Here is what I am going to try, 50 5x7 cards and envelops for $20 plus shipping so about .50 cents each.

P200 card -> http://www.clearbags.com/catalog/product/view/id/2040
E200 envelop -> http://www.clearbags.com/catalog/product/view/id/2020
B75XL bags -> http://www.clearbags.com/catalog/product/view/id/325

I went with the linen cards, a little heavier. The non linen ones are a little cheaper
