    Re: More Small Sensor Fun

Been around looking at dead leaves and colours the last couple of days.
I wanted to get bright colours and with some fairly heavy contrast in GIMP
it seems to have worked, all with the GX100 run through rawhterapee and GIMP, Hope you can enjoy these,

    Sambuco in the Park Monza

macro of 2 tiny mushrooms growing in the bark , had to hand hold as my tripod couldnt get to it ( I've since worked out how to!)

    Re: More Small Sensor Fun

Back to Monza on my way home from work. parked the car and went for a walk with the Ricoh GX100. Luckily the cold seems to have killed the batteries so I was able to stop taking pix!

Used the EVF to get a different angle and risked twisting my neck too.

Gimp took up the colour very well

Il Lambro ( from where the word Lambretta comes I believe ) one of Italys most polluted rivers. Still not too bad in Monza. A bit further downstream and the stench is unbearable

Ta Derek. These last pics, those taken 24/11 , I ran through RAWTherapee and produced a Tiff File. But I still have to work out the best workflow for me.

Nice use of the light Wouter. I know you havent been too happy with the GX200 but these pictures show what it can do in capable hands. I really like the Utrecht intersection picture.

Sandy, that is a really good series of images. Fascinating subjects beautifully taken. I particularly like the street shot of the man on the bicycle and the two interior shots.

    btw, that's actually a tricycle/rickshaw that carries 2/3 passengers

also, the other two shots you mention are street-shots of snack-vendors selling food items on street-side

    Re: More Small Sensor Fun

Thanks Sandy, nice pix fromBangladesh - what are the people doing in the first and second pic?

Went to see Marcus Miller at the Blue Note. A great concert. I have never been impressed by the recordings I have , but LIVE he is one of the best.
Light was low and really couldnt get much. I had to push the gx100 to 1600iso.
But really I was surprised by the camera at this speed.
    gx 100 Exposure: 0.05 sec (1/20)
    Aperture: f/4.4
    Focal Length: 15.3 mm
    ISO Speed: 1600
    Exposure Bias: 0 EV

After the show up to the gallery for autographs, photos. Caught this scene.
GX100 full auto flash/iso the lot.

rest of the pix, not many , are here

Yes, the GRD1 is real. I really like the camera and the results. A very fluid camera to use. After having used the GRD3 in September I also now realize how good the original already was.

That fire breathing shot is rather fun!

The Okra and night shots remind me just how good the ricoh cameras are in the right hands. Superb!

I must make the time to get out and take some with mine.

Cracking shots, did you use a polarize filter, I have used one on the DP2, it's very difficult to see changes on the LCD.

No, Derek, I did not use any filter in those shots. If I need one, I use Color Efex Pro.

    Hi Osman,

    Congratulations for these beautiful photos.

It must be quite difficult to focus with DP-1 for shots like these. Are you using MF?

Cool photos otumay. Only on the second one I get the urge to change the white balance. It seems too blue, but then, maybe this is realistic.
