My 7yr monitor is showing it's age so just asking if you have a make you would recommend that is good at reproducing true colours for PP work,

looking at possibly 22/24inch wide screen have seen a few but they cost around £400/600 far above my budget of around £200.

Any recommendations please.

Look at DELL U2410 or DELL 2209W, i have Eizo CG222W which is great, little pricey but it is worthy.

NEC, HP, Samsung all are affordable and good quality, but top notch monitors are Eizo, Lacie, Apple, and maybe NEC.

I just got an NEC 2490WUXi2. Pricing here was around 600 EUR plus tax. Perhaps a bit above your budget. Very good display for color critical work on a (relative) budget.

The HP 2475 has gotten some bad raps from uneven lighting - color shifts around the edges. Avoid it.

In general, look for a display with an IPS panel. Here is a display newsfeed:

HP just announced two IPS panels ZR22w and ZR24w that might fit your budget. not out yet though.

NEC EA231WMI should fit your budget. Review here: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/nec_ea231wmi.htm
It seems to do WRT color accuracy compared to similar Dell and HP offerings.
