interesting after using the s3 pro to go back to the small sensor (famous for high iso, same as f30/31), shooting some of the same material. what's evident is you can't get the same transparency, the whole more solid and cruder. guess that's from the reduced dynamic range. these files 13 mb and those from the s3 25 mb.

thanks, derek. after all these years i've suddenly discovered the marvels of adobe bridge and adobe camera raw. i like lightroom for processing many images at once, however i've never been happy with it doing one at a time. i had no idea camera raw had all these different ways of processing images - and you can find wonderful presets on the web (the WOW ones, for example) free. also bridge somehow easier to look at and catalogue. old dog, new tricks.

i just love the iris. here's another shot and a crop from the center. and a second with a crop from the corner. these files, surprisingly, allow for all kinds of interpretations.

Wayne, I've been away for a while. It was so nice to discover these breathtaking images last night. This is what photography is about, I guess: Sharing emotions. Thank you for sharing them with us.
Best,
Osman

I forgot to ask: Could you please advise a few sites where I can find presets for Photoshop?

thanks, lili. we're always chasing rainbows. one could have a whole career with just this camera. going back, this is what it can do in the theater under the most difficult conditions.

and with work they could have all been improved dramatically (so to speak). (also don't forget all the free plugins: http://www.thepluginsite.com/resources/freeps.htm

much appreciated, osman. start with these

http://www.ononesoftware.com/detail.php?prodLine_id=34

then you can google 'free adobe camera raw presets' and have a field day looking. also lots of actions available, free and not. also don't forget all the free plugins: http://www.thepluginsite.com/resources/freeps.htm just load them in the photoshop plugin folder and experiment.

best, wayne
