Where am I?

You see the first shot that came to mind is walking from Pall Mall through the park towards Parliament in London but that is not Big Ben and the Parliament towers don't have another clock. The follow up shots have completely thrown me off as I was next thinking something like Boston Common. So, if it is something like Oxford or Cambridge, you are up pretty late and I haven't been there enough to know where you would be shooting from.

I'm stumped ... the vegetation looks almost tropical along the water, but the landmarks don't seem to go together.

Yippee! I knew that first shot looked familiar, but the Egyptian things didn't ring a bell. But then I knew I should know ...

Thanks for the fun and the nice shots, Durr. It's been a while since I've seen the blue dog, and the street car ... and had some beignets ...

I lived in NO (Metairie, really) for 3 years back in the 90's. Need to go back someday.

Joan,
The 1st one is in Audubon Park. The Egyptians are in Metairie Cemetary, and you know the rest! Good job and thanks.

You know, I never went to any of the cemeteries, always thought I'd go, but there was never much time to do 'tourist-y' things. I was spending all my time running around with my son and his Cub Scout troop, Little League team, etc.

How long are you staying there? (Or are you living there?)

Joan,

Actually, I took a group of students from Millsaps College on a weekend workshop. We rode the City of New Orleans down and tooled around town via the street cars and our feet. Had lots of fun and hopefully helped with some photo tips. I live in Jackson, Mississippi.

How great, Durr! Would love to see more of your shots sometime.

Have only passed through Jackson, on my way north. Was in Biloxi a couple of weekends, having fun in the casinos.
