Uwe,
What kind of grip do you use?
I am also interested in this camera for video also. Thanks
Steven
Photographed a car show today. Light was very demanding (normal in our place).

- LCD as sunlight no problem at all with the sunlight LCD Setting
- Very light in my hands
- we use a grip

A mixed lot from today. The first four were RAW processed in RPP (IDC crashed after 28 of 32 images). The rest were jpegs from the camera.

RX100; 36.28mm; 1/100s @ f/4.9; ISO 800

RX100; 30.5mm; 1/2000s @ f/4.5; ISO 200

RX100; 37.1mm; 1/125s @ f/4.9; ISO 2500

RX100; 24.4mm; 1/80s @ f/4; ISO 800

RX100; 10.4.mm; 1/800s @ f/6.3; ISO 125

RX100; 10.4mm; 1/1000s @ f/1.8; ISO 125

RX100; 10.4mm; 1/800s @ f/1.8; ISO 125

RX100; 10.4mm; 1/320s @ f/5.6; ISO 125

A quick question . . .
can you take it out of your pocket with one hand and shoot - without using the other hand . . . . . .
It may sound like an odd question . . .

I suspect the key to the complete one-hand operation will be if you can turn it on with one hand. By the look of the pictures, the on/off button is just next to the shutter button, so I think it's very possible to take it out in one hand, press the on/off button, then begin shooting. Grip may be another issue, but dependent on the operator's hand and preference. I hope to get one soon :D

I would not see any issue holding the camera in one hand while turning it on, especially the RX100.

There is a neat little Richard Franiec stick-on grip due out in early August, if you like that sort of thing.

Cheers,

Gandolfi.

For me the RX100 and D800. Still looking whether there is use/need for a mirrorless system. If it would be the E-M5 (and I have Gh2, NEX-7, Nikon V1).

For video the GH2, RX100 and HX9V (for the longer zoom range).

So far the RX100 is the most usable small P&S camera I have used.

David: Thanks! :D Have fun with yours.

Here's a couple more. The third is a processed RAW crop from the fourth unprocessed image.

RX100; 10.4mm; 1/160s @ f/5.6; ISO 125

RX100; 10.4mm; 1/400s @ f/5.6; ISO 125

RX100; 10.4mm; 1/400s @ f/5.6; ISO 125

RX100; 10.4mm; 1/400s @ f/5.6; ISO 125

Cheers, Matt

The first image with the red flowers in the out of focus regions (bottom right) renders them very weirdly, alarmingly so, nothing wrong with how you take the images. Just an observation!

Hmmm... I just assumed that they're from some art effects or filters... it can't be the actual image, can it?
