A beautifully restored 1934 Chevy parked on the street. You can see the reflection of my blue jeans in the bumper as I squatted down to take this photo.

    Re: LX7 Images

Thank you Howard. In my recent trip I contemplated bringing RX100 or LX7, since the LX7 was just recently purchased, I opted brining with me as back-up for the X2. Ended up using the LX7 more and leaving the X2 in my room.

Thanks, guys! I used the LX7's "shoot through glass" scene mode for that shot and it works like a charm.

    Re: LX7 Images

Gilpen-I am unable to look at it larger. Is it in sharp focus or soft?

Beside difficulty in handholding macro shots is a slight breeze moves my focus point.

    Colors look great.

This was taken at 1.4 or 2.0 think reasonably focused but not to my liking. At this opening the shutter speeds are already at 1/30.

    Re: LX7 Images

    Gilpen,

There have been articles in several photo magazines about focusing Photoshop Plug in called Helicon Focus where you use a tripod and a take a number of macro photos focusing on different areas. Helicon Focus takes the sharp focus from all of the images and layers them so the entire macro photo is in sharp focus. I do not shoot that many macro to carry my tripod and then spend another $199 on another Plug In.

Hi, I just got an Lx7. I am new to photography but so far I think the Lx7 is awesome. There's some great looking pictures on here. Here's one I took of my Dog Gunner. I fiddled a bit with contrast and exposure settings with Preview on my mac.

    Re: LX7 Images

deckitout, lovely pics, did you do much post process on the colour images?

Very punchy contrasty colours. Love the bokeh in the rope as well.

I used to have a LX3, although quite an amazing camera in terms of manual controls and features, I found the image quality was best when doing black and whites, and for the amazing HD video recording. The reason I emphasize HD recording is because the LX3 had a CCD Sensor as opposed to CMOS sensor which all newer cameras these days seem to have. Major advantage of CCD sensor comes to it own when doing fast panning scenes. CMOS suffers from jello effect, whereas CCD should does not.

    Hi Mazor
I processed in camera Raw adding color/contrast, clarity adjustment brush etc, also some selective Topaz applied.
The Lx7 gave me a good raw tp play with, it has great DR at ISO 80
