That's what my wife still uses.

Takes good pictures, imho. The camera, that is.:D

Why should I bother getting her something new?

I have a yet-hoped-to-self-repair LX3 (think it has some loose bit mucking things), and its replacement LX7 (which I opted to buy (used, FM.com) after LX100 was issued ; the later-issued LX-10 is more what I'd hoped for). I just realized that a 16x20? print that I had in a gallery which garnered some interest and then was in fact sold ... was taken by the LX3 and was a landscape crop of just less than half the portrait original --the photo lab's system surely red-font-warned me I needed a smaller size ! I like the generous DoF (sharp eyes & blurry noses aren't my forte'), and easy "to-have-with-you" size, and macro ability.
