more battery life with sony a 33

i have been using the Sony a 33 since it came out. Its short short lived battery has become so annoying that i am thinking of going back to one of my older Sony dslr's . Is this a problem for others? how do you maximize battery life, always turn the camera off when not in use? something I do not do with my Nikon or Panasonic thanks joanlvh

It is annoying. It's especially bad if you are shooting video now and then. I carry two extra batteries, and am trying to get in the habit of turning it off between shooting bursts, while I'm walking/hiking.

This is one of the factors I will consider
A580 is so much better in terms of battery life
