But I know what people do here while driving: Having their meal, reading a book, do makeup, so photographing while driving sounds normal here :-)

Just as long as you don't try using Siri! I like the iPhone 4s, but Siri raises the blood pressure faster than anything else known to mankind . . . at least in the UK - I gave it another try today:
Reminder - Car Service - 7pm . . . I didn't want to tax him (yes, in the UK it's a rather stoppy sounding bloke). He got it (hooray)
"Would you like me to create reminder" "Yes" I said
    . . . .. . . . . . "Sorry, I cannot create the reminder at this moment" he said.

Almost makes one want to take a photograph whilst driving!

Ah! maybe that was my problem . . .

actually . . I have to apologise to Siri - I just tried to send myself a complicated and obscene text message, and Siri didn't miss a syllable!

Siri has been completely useless here . . . until now, I can't flaw it, catches everything . . It even found the name of the new Coldplay album ( not in good taste perhaps . . . on the other hand, it also knew the name of the Tom Waits album, so I can't flaw it there!

Matt, Steve - good shots. I like the bridge, and the first shot of the mountains, especially.
I had a CV 15 and though it was great on the M8 . . . but it's long since gone to the great ebay in the sky!

Just for something completely different I bought a Leica R 28-90 . . . . but I don't have an adapter to try it with yet.

    all the best

Steve: Maybe it's just a better fit with the 5N? I haven't tried it on the M9. I have to admit that I've never had a CV lens for very long with Leica bodies.

Steve: Case in point. These are quite nice with a lens that I kept about a week! SC or MC ? I need to revisit the CV's for use on the Nex.

Carl and Matt, yep liking the 40 nok mc the latest one.
I am also happy with my cv 75mm 2.5 screw mount.
I also just got the contax 90mm g with a fotodiox adaptor, liking that also.
I sent back my cv 25 for repair, this is was not so happy with at least when shooting at infinity.

Re: Share your best NEX-5N images here

I came across two obnoxious plants along the waterfront recently. Both are aliens but only the second is really of serious concern.

A "lovely" female Ginkgo tree loaded with ripe, foul smelling fruit. The city planted these in the park many years ago and aside from the odiferous fruit they are actually beautiful trees.

A new sign at the exit from the boat launching area warning boaters to inspect their boats carefully for Hydrilla. This aquatic plant was just recently found in the area and there is considerable concern that it may become established and clog the local waterways. A large scale herbicide treatment has already been applied, but come spring I suspect this plant will still be around.

    Hi Matt
Be careful . . . . be very very careful!
I suddenly seem to be the proud owner of:
    Leica 28-90 f2.8 f4.5
    Leica 21-35 f3.5 f4
    Leica 180 f2.8 APO

ebay is so simple! Actually, all together they cost me a little less than a new 35 'lux. and if they're as good as they're cracked up to be I'll be a happy bunny.

    Hi There

. . . . you can't call a Ginkgo an 'alien'! It's one of the oldest Gymnosperms on the planet (actually, arguable if it's a gymnosperm). It's certainly been around long before the current continent configuration. Enjoy a tree of incredible antiquity, beauty and wonder (even if the fruit are too odiferous on the female!)

A pretty inexpensive lens that was gathering dust in the used lens display. Focuses at about 6" (why I included the last photo). Thanks for looking.

Jono, that's a very nice set of Leica R lenses! Are you going to use them on your NEX 5N? Or are you hearing something about the upcoming Leica EVF camera?

I still hold on my Leica R lenses and hope to be able to use them on a native Leica body. Now at least I can use them on NEX 5N.

    Hi There
Well - I'll start off using them on NEX . . . then I'll think about changing to a Leitax mount for the A77.
I've not heard anything relevant about the Leica upcoming camera . . . have you?

    Hi Tom . . . do I?
I think these will do for now - not least because I have the Zeiss 135 f1.8 . . . one doesn't like to duplicate too much!

5N,- kit lens+ polar filter. one of the very first test shotz.

    First post in this thread.
Having read so much,-good,- about the 5N decided to venture into this camera.

Wonder how you, well respected mates, are developing your RAW files, as it seems Lightroom is still not supporting this format?

    Thanks,

No, but my type of processing of course (e.g. local contrast).

    Lots of great captures here...!

I just got my 5N last week but haven't had a lot of time to get out with it. Got this several days ago while out on a walk with my wife. It's just a quick grab-shot but it surprised me as it was shot at ISO2000 with the 18-55 OSS!

Uwe: I like the first one (a lot better then a Gursky!). Sparsely elegant.
Carl: Both of these are excellent. Compositionally similar.
Endre: Welcome. Lightroom supports the files, as of several weeks ago: Vers. 3.5, Camera Raw 6.5. Does a great job, IMHO.
Neil: I was also surprised how good that lens was. Nice photo.

    Cheers, Matt

Do you mean the Twin Trees? I love them. We have many shots of them.

Re: Share your best NEX-5N images here

Lots of Great Stuff around here:
I'll comment later - apologies for cross posting, but I'm not sure you all go to the Leica Forum!!

    What fun I've been having!
I've never owned any R lenses before, but the focus peaking on the NEX 5n together with the excellent viewfinder prompted me to buy 3 lenses:
    21-35 f3/5 Asph
    28-90 f2.8 / f4.5 Asph
    180 f2.8 APO

I thought they would also go nicely on the A77 with a mount change if necessary, but it's much simpler using them on the NEX with a cheap chinese (very nicely made) adapter, which cost 19.99

Here are a few early samples in no particular order
    Processed from RAW in Aperture:

with the 28-90 (Oak Apples )

    with the 28-90

    with the 180 APO

    with the 28-90

    with the 28-90

    with the 28-90

    with the 180 f2.8

Neil - Welcome - I hope you didn't eat it - it does surprise one though doesn't it!
Matt - love the dockside one especially
Uwe - Lone trees are the business . . . double ones are double the business! (and of course they're lovely shots as usual).

    all the best

The 28-90 intrigues me. Can you post a picture of it next to a well known lens?

    Thanks.
