I went out with my cleaned ( By Will van Maanen, he did an outstanding job again!) Summitar 50/2.

Love the Bokeh and dreamy look. No it is not as sharp as the Sigma 30/2.8 but it ain't bad either for 1943 lens and it has other qualitys I like.

Goodness me, Mr Driscoll, an NEX-7 AND two Abyssinian kittens! As both a lifetime cat slave (including to Abyssinians at one period) and someone now circling hesitantly around a decision as to whether to buy the NEX-7, I would venture to say that your cup runneth over, big time! The thing is, though, that those gorgeous cats look as they are going to give you such a runaround for the foreseeable future that you are barely going to have time to look at a camera let alone lift one to your eye. (By the way, great shots -- which further fuel my NEX-7 or OMD agony.)

Just back from my first and last road trip only using an NEX-7. It's so close to being everything I need, but still not quite there. Still, stunning camera for it's size.

True vivek, problem is since the flooding in Thailand, the Sony factory has been producing very small quantities of 7, infact I know of people that have been waiting for the black 18-55 kit nex 7 for over 2 months now

Thanks, Jono. It's the Summicron asph 90mm. NEX 7' ergonomics, EVF and focus peaking make this lens a joy to to use on the tiny body.

Is that a foot fault? Nice capture though! If that's your kid, you need to tell him to look at the ball through the impact. That will help in ball placement.

Finally got the waiting list filled so I could grab my own NEX7. Thought I'd share a couple, both taken with the 18-200 at 400ISO.

Thanks, Panya. He has his own trainer now and all aspects are being looked after (FWIW, 4 years ago, that part- ie watching the ball was spot on).

I am not particularly pleased with this. The bee was still alive (towards the end its life cycle, presumably) and would not allow for any other approach.

Confusing, isn't it? Years of tinkering allows one to enjoy TTL flashing in a small, convenient package. It isn't "there" yet but will get there.

Nothing amazing but a couple of snaps of my daughter and friend on her Paddleboard this weekend. Taken with the E mount 55-210. Selling my entire Nex 7 system in favor of the Xpro1. The 7 seems more versatile but just can't afford two systems. I will miss it though for sure.

Some with the new Sigma lenses. Mostly around the new Filmmuseum in Amsterdam. A typical modern computer designed building. What shape is not possible anymore?

Very quiet here with all those new cameras.

I reworked some baby portraits shot wide open with old 50mm 50ths lenses. Put in some grain and vignetting in AR. Not my usual thing to do. Now I am thinking may be they should go better in B&W.

    Re: Fun with NEX-7

Nicholas: A beautiful image. Evokes a real feeling for the desert.
jlm: Nice. I esp. like the first one: framing, her distinct profile, and expression.
Wayne: Brilliant color. I like the dynamic aspect of the first photo. Congrats on getting your own Nex 7.
Vivek: Why weren't you pleased? It's a pretty cool shot.
Retow: Great 'bubbles and circles". I love the layering in the first one with the shiny, detailed, foreground and the silhouetted background.
Retow: Impressive photos at the horse races!
Bigkidneys: Nicely photographed. Have fun with the XPro1.
Michiel: Beautiful series. Excellent results with that lens.
Michiel: Cute kid. B & W might soften them a bit and allow you to bring the photo's 'focus' in tighter?

    Cheers, Matt

A few more macro shots with NEX-7 and a Leitz macro Summar 35/4.5 lens with HVL-F20AM (flash modifier) of a leaf eater. Close to 3X magnification.

    Re: Fun with NEX-7

The little critter really tired me out. The difficulty is increased because of the iridescent exterior. For these two shots, I added an SB-30 fill via Phottix strato II wireless set up. The HVL-F20AM with a flash modifier was still on the NEX-7 via the Phottix trigger. Again ~3X magnification.

Matt, Thanks for your kind words. See the leaf eater shots - the difference between post #847 and #849. Pretty big. It is getting there but not there yet.
