My word, Sony are going to own the sensor world. There is a fine density, even visible in jpegs, from the NEX7, with fabulous contrast handling.

    Hey,

Just got the Nex7 and 16/2.8. First shot deserves a post. Mixed mercury / twilight / fluorescent handled well with awb.

iso 200, 16/2.8 at f/4, 1/8s, handheld and a couple of crops. I think I'm going to like this camera!

That's a really nice one--love to see the full.

A n7 thread is good--precisely because we CAN compare. I doubt anyone has bought one without considering alternatives.

But I am surpised online results are so close to 5n. The m8 and m9 are still the leaders for RF glass, and distinctive. Caveats of course.

In fact I nearly bought an m8 for 1700USD the other day. under 4k shutter.

I think they are getting to be a steal.

Hi fellas. Just joined as I've recently moved from years of using Canon DSLRs to a NEX 7 and rangefinder glass.

Quick snap this morning to try out the HVL20AM flash I bought yesterday to use in place of the on board unit.

My 7 month old daughter practicing her crawling. Shot with a Zeiss ZM 50.

Philber: Thanks. Now, I'm confused. Why can Rich see then and you can't? I tried inserting 'xxlarge' images for the first time. Going to have to figure this out.

David.....no.....the CV125 SL. I shot the Nokton today for the first time....god, what a beauty. Really, really sharp corner to corner......I tried to induce magenta corners, but it was still bright outside and with f/1.2, it exceeded 1/4000 sec shutter speed. Widest I could shoot was f/2.8.

Trying out the Konica AR 85mm f/1.8 on the NEX7. This flower bouquet shot handheld at f/2.8. Adapter (Fotodiox) is quite tight and makes it difficult to turn the aperture ring, which is right at the base of the mount. A sharp lens with nice bokeh.

Thanks Rich. I've been trying to find an adapter (Konica AR to M) so I can also use this lens on the GXR-M, but no luck. RJ was supposed to make one, but guess that project never got off the back burner.

That is the LA-EA1, so manual focus. I've had no luck using this adapter for auto focus on my lenses.

LA-EA2 is on the way to make it totally automatic with Phase Detect autofocus.

    Re: Fun with NEX-7

Hi all. I am a frequent poster on the GetDPI Leica forum but recently was given the wonderful opportunity to own a NEX 7. I have been enjoying it on a trip through Argentina. I have come away quite impressed, so far, with the camera's capabilities, though I do find aspects challenging (getting the focus just right can be challenging in daylight, when focus peaking seems less sensitive and specific to the point of focus)....

Anyways, here are some images, shot over the past few days, with my travel set up (Zeiss 24 E mount, Leica 35 mm f/1.4 summilux FLE, Leica 75 mm f/2 Summicron, and Leica 135 mm f/3.4 APO Telyt), adapted via a Novoflex adapter....

All with the Nex 7 and 24mm f/1.8. Taken in London, January, this year.

Walkling along the Thames with the Nex 7 and 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3. Hard to resist photographing the 'eye'. Especially if you are a tourist who flew 10 hours to get here.

    Cheers, Matt

Carlos: Thanks! We stopped in London for two nights on our way to India. Hit the weather just right.

    Cheers, Matt
