Transit of Venus

A couple from a few hours ago....both with a77, neutral density, 70-400 with 1.4X converter. The second one is distorted through the atmosphere so Venus doesn't look like a sphere.

Not actually all that exciting but even my grandchildren will probably have passed on before this happens again!

Nice Bill.... I was asked if I was going to take a photo of that but I just did not want to risk my sensor.

Nice images Bill. I saw it thru my own eyes briefly this afternoon (thanks to a fellow employee who had set up his binos and telescope with a solar filter).

Great to experience this historic event, knowing just a little about the significance of the Venus transit in the history of astronomy.

There are very few people alive today who will see this event 105 years from now.
