A colleague's Novoflex adapter arrived this morning; I was able to mount the OM 50/3.5 for the first time. This lens seems razor sharp wide open, which surprised me. Both the peaking and the MF magnifications work, and the enlarged image does not seem to make focus any easier or more accurate than the peaking—and peaking is faster, so probably what I will go with.

I find the 50 macro a touch front heavy on the '6.

And (OT) I am looking for a NEX 7 body if I can find one at a good price.

Pics to come; the Sigma "Art" 60/2.8 just arrived, too (two copies!).

Kit, I was surprised at the weight of the glass (which makes it front heavy) as well. Amazingly, when few manufacturers had any idea about floating elements, Olympus did that for many of their lenses. The OM 50/3.5 also (according to Olympus) has that. This bodes well for infinity to close range performance.

The bokeh, as you might noticed by now, is quite smooth. :)

It is smooth; wretched weather here, and no flowers, and cat in almost total darkness... but pics to come

Cheers, KL

If you find the 3.5 macro front heavy try its big brother the 50/2 macro:shocked: - but it's optically superb.
The 3.5 is a great little lens and great for backpacking/hiking as well

Took the NEX6 with Sigma 19mm f/2.8E out for a walk today in the arboretum. Nice lens that I should use more often.

I don't know if NEX-5R is qualified to post here but I think they are the same (only less 1 important feature is EVF) beside, I don't see any topic with "Fun with NEX5R"
This picture was NEX-5R in Phuket, Thailand... I will post some more :)
Lens was a very cheap super wide Angle, Rokinon 8mm!

Nice... what sort of PP (or was it an in-camera filter)?

No problems just4fun, the split is a bit artificial and I would have preferred to stick with the simple "fun with Sony" and "fun with NEX" threads, but you can't control what threads everybody starts. Now there is lot more threads to monitor.

I like your picture and the PP. By the looks of it quite a large dose of fill light, clarity and black-point increase. I sometimes do that as well, and it fits this picture well.

Here's one from me from last week in Shanghai, looking at the other side from the Pudong river standing on the Bund. It was 39 degrees, 99% humidity and quite foggy so I didn't stay out there too long.

Received a CV Color Skopar 35/2.5 today; on the NEX 6 this is a lovely and small normal lens.

With the Hawk adapter, focusses down to about a foot. It is sharp wide open (but with reduced contrast, which I like). The 'haptics' (the 'in word'; and a few less letters than 'eronomics', so a keeper for me!) are excellent; the aperture levers are easily distinguished; the fingertip focussing lever easy to use, and similarly with the bigger one on the Hawk's.

The one thing I will change, though, is the detaching lever on the Hawk's: it is right in the way of where my RH middle finger wants to go. A few seconds on the grinder will fix that.

And providing the essential-to-MF little finger position is Jim Buchanan's excellent "Palm Grip" (combined with the feather-light L-bracket); until you try one you will not realise the improvement in operability that results from this high-quality addition. With the little finger anchoring the body, the thumb can operate the magnifying button: very fast.

To the web/html gurus here—any idea why the image tags (inserted via getDPI) do not work with Dropbox URLs?

OK, a few images from the CV 35/2.5:

The first one I shot, ƒ4 from memory, straight out the back door; temperatures around zero, focus on the LHS, the grape vine:

The next of my girlfriend, the focus is on her left eye (from our perspective); this lens is fast to focus via the focus lever:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/2cvdn5sh4mc7fyh/ACam 009.jpg

I like the OOF areas too; this is far from a Zeiss or Leica rendering, but I like it and the bokeh is very smooth.

Something going on here; in the past I have inserted image links and URLs from my own server, and they display as intended. URLs from Dropbox do not, for some reason. Anyhow.

Next is an image made during our daily walk; you can see the country around this area is nothing like Jono's! Focus on water tank, ƒ4 I think:

We have been "misted in" for almost two full days now; this is an image from today as the mist lifted and became a large cloud:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/ulecvchq6fmlu8v/mist and tree 038.jpg

And the last for today is another closer view of the mist:

Cheers, this lens is a keeper for me. It is a 'snapshot' lens; I seem to have lost my fascination with ultra sharp, and I am more interested in both daily moments and the actual experience of framing and making an image. None of these are good in any way, but I am pleased with the gestalt. All images were shot in raw, but apart from a touch of edge sharpen in Aperture, are SOOC. Colours seem realistic and the scenes are rendered in a way that is quiet, somehow, and bring the actual experiences back to me—one of the reasons for 'taking a photo'!
