Re: Fun with the Sony A7 and A7r series

The Etretat scene is a dream, and if this is the last I do, one of these days I will shoot it :) ... ideally at hurricane force winds.... and a few minutes after the storm passed, seriously!

Beautiful Michiel! Now back to cooking my pasta sauce, with mince, jallepeno? Peppers, Olives, peppery cream cheese, loads of fresh garlic, a splash or two madeira, spring onions, and what else the Heck I come up with...

Let me know if you're coming to normandy. Sporadicly we do run a B&B here in Normandy or have the house for rent.

Don't kiss anyone after this pasta :D

Many thanks Joe as usual very most appreciated.
I have also been very much enjoying your Palouse series of images while I have been away this last week, the wide open areas and blue skies are well suited to your WATE.

Likewise...
Werner’s travels through Italy have just left me gorging on olives this past week and opening up numerous bottles of Chianti, Barolo and Amarone - My cellar is nearly depleted!...Perhaps he can send me a few bottles of Red. :D:D:D
Michiel’s images of the Normandy coastline have just shown me that I missed so much when I was there a couple of years ago...I will have to revisit again one day (soon)....Cheers Barry.

Ok, I just about had it. First Werner with his R100 now you folks with a WATE. :banghead: :cussing:

I hereby declare all them WATE and R100 shots NSFW!;) Reason: Gear Porn! LOL

Wonderful perspective and rendition Joe. Love it!

@Barry, that clock tower triggered a strange memory from many many years ago. Once upon a time... Ok, not that long ago, but probably 30 years or so there was an amazing game for computers called MYST. That picture could have been part of it! Class!

Where is that?

Strange customs you have in Heidelberg. Sitting on someones table while having dinner?

" Hi Werner good to see you, take a seat, Dinner is ready in a minute....err? Well, why not! Want a cushion?"

Mhhh. :ROTFL:;)

Hehehe!

I like the first the most. What seems to be embossed metal texture?, at a glance could be seen as water too. Nice!

Btw, That MYST reference was a compliment. Inspired by Jules Verne, it turned into the most sold game on the planet for many years. Release was 1993 and it stayed No 1 seller until 2002, the graphics artwork renderings were ahead of it's time in 1993 and even today they look really nice. That clock tower would have fitted right in there. :)

Many thanks Georg,
You were right the second time...It's water.
Re: The MYST clock tower had me curious enough to look it up.

Some similarities I would admit...Not so sure about the dodgy graphics artwork renderings though. ;)
Cheers Barry

Re: Fun With Sony _____

I'm putting this RX100iii here as I have previously put up some RX10 images - seems that the IQ is pretty much the same (also 1" is not really small sensor is it?)
Anyway, I love it

This is a jpeg from the camera at ISO 1600

Re: Fun With Sony _____

:) I know where that is, I was walking down that street, but was more lucky with the weather! There used to be an outdoor shop close by, forgot the name, but still have socks from them. When leaving the place I took an Electrocardiography from it.

Heck, I even wrote a little essay back then while sitting on the right in your picture where the trees are and observing life at the cross road. If memory serves, when walking around the place at night do NOT turn right at that crossing. More crackhaeds and dodgy characters than you want to meet.

Re: Fun With Sony _____

Georg, yes you pinned it! - glad it brings back memories. If you were writing essays, times must have been good?

It's cleaned up (better be, I live here!), but there are still some rough spots. Very vibrant district with the market as the hub. I was testing the Sony and I liked the reflections.

Your CN tower pic is nice - I've taken to shooting from cab windows, and get some of my best stuff that way.
