Re: Fun with the Sony A7 Series Cameras( all of them)

From my recent sojourn on the south coast. A7R+24-70 (that lens really is proving to be surprisingly good).

Re: Fun with the Sony A7 Series Cameras( all of them)

Yesterday early evening walkabout in overcast low light conditions, along the disused railway track/trail at the back of my home.
All taken with the 35mm FE Distagon, the first three are at F1.4 and the last one is at F5.6...With minimum PP just for a change ;)
I am happy using this lens either stopped down or WO...Close up to your subject or towards infinity or anything inbetween for that matter :)
The rendering is just beautiful to my eyes and it’s plenty sharp enough I feel...Please click on the “LARGER” links below...Cheers Barry

Thanks Tom...."Resistance is futile"...The Borg :D
You could treat yourself if you have a Birthday coming up...Xmas is to far away...Cheers Barry
I have to say that this lens has a certain style to it that you are exploiting to the full, Barry.

It definitely looks different to my 2/35 Loxia and I expected them to be damn close. It is very sharp on the plane of focus and beautifully rendered in the oof areas.

Keep on posting these great captures!

Thank you for the kind words Louis...most appreciated.

Lots of good 35mm's out there now, we are spoiled for choice for sure!
Like you I have tried quite a few of them and this is the first time in a long while that I have been content. The 35mm Summilux M (Pre Asph) was my previously favourite rendering plus it was smaller and lighter but I now prefer the IQ rendering from this Distagon...I suppose that is why I'm happy to pay what I consider is a small price for this larger and heavier lens but as Guy said on another thread this lens is not going to be everybody's first choice...Cheers Barry
