Re: Fun with the Sony A7 Series Cameras( all of them)

From last week in Lausanne

This is an elementary school. It is typical of the beginning of the XXth century. This particular style of architecture was named "style village suisse" (Swiss village style) in French and Heimatstil in German. It followed the historicism and Jugendstil of the XIXth century. It was characterized by the use of local construction material, local artisanal techniques and by these big roofs; it was based on the romantic aspiration to return to the simplicity of the village farms. Many public buildings were built in that style, particularly schools, but also apartments houses. That style marks the transition from historicism to modern art.

The first time I have had a need to use my Sony kit in a few weeks. The A7R and CZ24-70 are great for this kind of reportage.

Removal of the lock gates from the Regent's Canal at Kentish Town Lock by the Canals and Rivers Trust while they ready the lock for new gates.

Obviously, the lock has been dammed and drained prior to removal.

The gates were lifted over the towpath to an area where they can be stored and taken away beside the canal.

This is the smaller gate from the high water end of the lock.

It looks like they are storing the paddles for use with the new gates.
