A7rm2 and Canon TSE 24mm F3.5 (the first version)
This lens isn't top. It flares like mad as is shown here and is rather soft in the corners. Some times I think that I should update it.. But then should I get the 24mm II ? Or not rather the 17mm ? Both lenses would be much heavier than the one I have. I can't imagine getting out with all four TSE lenses. Way too much weight. The three TSE I have are already making a heavy package.

Nice! Are you fully committed to 2:3 format, or would you consider cropping the foreground just a bit?

I may start a new series on hydroelectric power plants and their dams. There is much to tell about them, but it is getting late.. so I will keep that for another time. Those who want to see more of that plant can go to the album I have started at Flickr :

I bought an Olympus 35mm shift lens for my used 𝛂7 and am mostly happy with it—great coverage, sharpness, and moderate easy-to-correct barrel distortion, but I did not do sufficient research before purchase—it’s single-coated and flares badly in strong backlight. Whilst I can fix much of the flare in post, that adds to processing time of course. Need to look for a multi-coated version. But before doing that, I will acquire a 24mm Olympus or a Pentax 28mm shift (I don’t particularly feel the need for tilt). These mounts are attractive because they will work on a Pentax K-1 which will be in my (destitute pensioner) future! Weight and size will be considerations, along with price.

Right! We have lots of eucalyptus / blue gum trees that present a fire hazard because they ignite easily and burn at such high temperatures, with wildfires sometimes spreading to residential areas. There's been a controversy over thinning them: some regard them as a 'non-native' (that is, Australian) plant, to be uprooted; others like myself who grew up with them want them preserved, but thinned so that don't foster wildfires during our CA droughts.

This is a thinning project that I photographed because it looked so strangely like funeral pyres, or like a for witches to hold midnight rites.

To see a eucalypt erupt in a bushfire is both an exciting and terrible sight. However, lots of plant species in Australia require burning for seeds to be ‘awakened’, so the original inhabitants practised careful patchwork burning to achieve this—working in small-enough areas so that animals could easily escape to surrounding unburned territory (over 50 species live in Euc forests). And of course animals such as koalas were and are dependent on particular species of gums for food—a very specialised diet indeed!

Wonderfull series on that Power plant Annna! I like 4 and 5 the most!

@ Mediumcool; you are going the same route as me, I already bought a Pentax 28mm shift lens. Build like a tank! I am going to try it out this afternoon.

Thank you Michiel for your encouragement. And I appreciate that you picked two favorites from the lot.

I took a few more pictures today of another plant, this one is much smaller and built a little later (1959) : Lizerne et Morges SA, in Ardon. The architecture is not as impressive as that of the plant of Chandoline, but the place is fascinating, although that is difficult to show with a picture because it comes from the thundering noise of the water coming out of the two pen stocks and the overhanging gorges. This is a place where you want to stay, there is an incredible contrast between the thundering water and the calm surrounding this modest place.

There are more pictures of that plant at Flickr, in that album : https://www.flickr.com/gp/rrr_hhh/859Hbd

I visited another power plant this afternoon; in fact there are two plants side by side. Those plants are processing the water of the 4th biggest dam in the world and the highest gravity embankment dam. But there is nothing particularly impressive in these power plants. A few more pictures can be seen in the Flickr power plants album :

Thanks. Wonderful light, terrific composition, gorgeous colors!
Thanks K-H,

My main purpose for this trip was to watch and photograph the Vesak ( Buddha's birthday) Celebration in Borobudur, the largest Buddhist complex in the world. This lake is quite near Yogjakarta and is popular with photographers. Later we learnt there is another location where there are fisherman on rafts and they will row out to the lake for a fee for you to photograph them. But is was already too dark when we were told about this. Anyway, the neast city, Yogjakarta is only about 2 hours flight from Singapore. The colors of this sunset came after the sun went below the horizon. The colors and hues were amazing. Thanks for the comment.
