Starting from scratch with A7R. I have just bought the Canon FDn 85/1.2 L and first tests confirm that it is a winner combo with 7R.
Today I bought a Canon FDn 20/2.8 and it should arrive late next week (Denmark -> Spain).
I have FDn 35/2 and FDn 50/1.2 L on a 'wishlist' at my dealer in Sweden.
No plan at the moment to go native FE.

FE 55
FE 24-70

And a number of adapted Canon L lenses

Primes:

24 IS
50L
400L

Zooms:

8-15L
17-40L
70-200L

Favorite combo: A7R + 24mm IS USM. Great results here.

FE 55
FE 35
CV 21/1.8
C-40 Summicron
C-90 Elmar

As soon as the forthcoming FE 24/2 comes out I will probably sell the CV 21/1.8 to fund it.

Native:

FE 35 (I really like it!)
FE 55 (great, but bokeh can be wonky WO some times)
FE 24-70/4 (not convinced about this lens so far, but convenient, so I'll hold on to it. Would have kept the 28-70 kit but I like 24 on the wide end)
E 10-18/4 (temp lens until a good native WA prime or zoom comes out, might just sell it as 21mm is wide enough for me 99% of the time)

Other:

OM 21/3.5 (Great compact WA, will hold on to it to use as cross platform compact wide, may pick up a ZF.2 21/2.8 Distagon for ultimate IQ)
Voigtlander 35/1.2 v2 (Great, love it, pairs well with FE 35)
Zeiss ZM 50/1.5 C Sonnar (Great, small, easy to focus, character lens)
Leica Cron-R 50/2 (May sell, I tend to pick up the Sonnar OR the FE, not the Cron)
Leica Summarit M 90/2.5 (Very nice, will probably switch to native FE 85 if it comes out)

On my A7 in order of most use:

Hexanon 85 1.8
Hexanon 35 2.8
Hexanon 135 3.5
Hexanon 50 1.7
C/Y Carl Zeiss 85 1.4
C/Y Carl Zeiss 50 1.4

I have more hexanons and c/y zeisses. It is to my surprise that I find myself use the hexanons as the default lenses. I had thought it would have been the zeisses as they were the my default lenses on m4/3.

I have just started to experiment with my collection of OM Zuikos.

Very surprised to see to no partakers of the classic Nikon MF lenses...go great with the A7. Also: a set of really sharp Minolta AF lenses: 50, 100 macros, 28-135, and the 70-210 "beercan".
Also, like Godfrey, find great results with Leica R lenses.

Lineup so far:

From left to right:

1. The Natives
35
55
24/70

i like them all incl. the 24/70

2. Leica M

Cron 90
Nocti 1.0

Novoflex

For the rendering, bokeh if needed

3. Leica R

Apo-Telyr R 180/3.4
Apo Macro Elmarit R 100/2.8, my favorite
Apo Telyt R 280/2.8 (APO TELECONVERTER 1.4 400/4)
Macro Elmarit R 60/2.8

Novoflex

All excellent

4. Canon

L 70-200/4 IS works very good with IS and slow AF
Zeiss ZE 18/3.5 (most used of the Canon mounts)
TSE 24/3.5 II

Metabones Smart III

All excellent

5. Nikon

Just got the Novoflex (the cheapo i had before was loose like a dog's tail)
First tests with these very old lenses show very good performance

Nikkor 15/3.5
was in my vitrine on an F4 and not used since at least 25 years. Very good corrected (distortion) at F8 very sharp with good corners, oc. flares and CA's progressive to the corners (very good correctable)

Nikkor 28/3.5 PC small and good
Nikkor 300/4 IF ED
PC Mikro Nikkor 85/2.8 D excellent for macros

If a fast prime in the 85 to 135 range FE comes it will be very tempting (AF)

Dan, your going to love your FD 20mm f/2.8. I am using one as my primary wide on my A7R. It is excellent. Also using the following with good success on the A7R. Most of these are excellent as well:

Canon FD 20mm f/2.8
Canon FL 55mm f/1.2
Canon FD 70-210 f/4
Canon FD 100-300 f/4

Contax Zeiss 28mm f/2.
Contax Zeiss 35mm f/1.4
Contax Zeiss 50mm f/1.4
Contax Zeiss 85mm f/1.4
Contax Zeiss 100mm f/4 Macro w/bellows

Leica M 28mm Summicron f/2 ASPH
Leica M 35mm Summicron f/2 Pre-Asph
Leica m 90mm Elmarit f/2.8 Pre-Asph

And last but not least, Sony FE 55mm f/1.8.
Can you tell I like fast older glass?
I've got to watch out, or before you know it I will have as many musty old lenses lying about as Godfrey :facesmack: :ROTFL:

I think ithe 18/3.5 ZE (Canon) is very good to excellent on the A7 R.

I posted lots of pics with the 18 at the Fun thread.
Printed quite some with that lens at A2 - exceptional!

The other surprise seems to be the Nikkor 15/3.5, but it needs more tests/experience, got the Novoflex yesterday.
It is great to have a cam you can adapt so many old lenses you have not used for a very long time (like the Apo-Telyt R 280/2.8) and get such good results. Thanks to Sony.
I have pure fun...
