Sony A7II Loxia 50 vs. Leica M240 50 APO

Excellent review, Brad and plenty of food for thought. Thanks for sharing.

I use Leica M (monochrom) and A7/R and the Monochrom still beats the A7 (and often the A7R in overall image sharpness) across a range of lenses, but in the sweet spot - 50mm - the A7R is untouchable. It beats the Monochrom from centre to corner, comfortably. A7R + 55mm FE is quite something. Just breathtaking and the 50 Loxia is fairly similar in resolution I understand.

I'd be very interested to see any comparison at 35mm, for example.

This isn't very surprising to me given how great the ZM50 is/was. Many preferred it to the non-APO Summicron for resolution. Most thought it gave about 90% of the sharpness of the APO version at 10% of the cost.
