I like the subject matter, light, and composition!
But I wonder about the high contrast. Had you tried a version with more highlight and shadow detail?

In fact I shot the whole tree but decided the trunk was the interesting bit, so this is only about 1/4 of the original pic.
No I had not tried a softer version, seems I just like 'crazy processing'. I like the look of old etchings/engravings.
But I made a softer one this morning, just for you!, and it looks as good as, if not better, so hope you like it.

Thx for letting us see! IMO the new version is more ‘plausible’ or less manipulated, but it’s your choice which you enjoy!
Maybe ‘the one in the middle’?
