One should be doable in firmware update, the other requires hardware update.

The Pixel shift capability, based on the same images, does appear to increase detail. That's always welcome for architecture and landscape shooting.
The ability for the back LCD to articulate for both landscape and portrait orientation would be a great help when using the camera close to the ground or other unusual positions.
