A99 AEL Button For Focusing

When I hold the AEL/AF Button to focus do I release it when pressing shutter button? Or do I keep in depressed while pressing shutter button? Thank you Sounds kinda stupid to ask this.

AEL Hold - must hold down button

AEL Toggle - AEL is locked at value until you push AEL button a second time so
you do not have to hold it down

Should be an * in the VF when AEL Zips activated

Assume that power off resets AEL Toggle
