New EVF Announced

Looks like some cameras will get a pretty large bump in the near future EVF performance. My guess is that this could go into an A9 successor or a A9R/S type of camera... or maybe the A7siii.

SAR is dyslexic and becoming irrelevant. It is a display not an EVF.

I do not know of an EVF made of only a display, do you?

An EVF is a display with some magnifying optics. How else would an EVF work?

Yes SAR could have been more precise with their wording (for example "new display for an EVF" or "new display for EVF applications") but we all understand what was announced and how it could be incorporated into an EVF. It's not dyslexia, it's just laziness on their part. They're also just going for clicks...."new EVF" is going to drive more traffic than "new display for EVF applications". Most of the rumor sites do this kind of thing as you are aware, no doubt.

As the displays in many current EVFs people find lacking, this could be a significant improvement. Better displays = better EVFs.
