I know there aren’t many video people here but this is one of the most exciting announcements since the A9 and A7III IMO. The TL;DR is FF sensor, Alpha Mirrorless derived autofocus with 94% coverage, 16-bit RAW output, minimum of 10-bit color in all codecs, variable ND built-in, Dual XQD and SD backup, bit rates up to 600mbps, plans for future updates of up to DCI 4k120, fUll and cropped sensor modes, VENICE color science (as much as I have grown to hate the color science term), designed for “one person crews”, and undercutting most direct competitors in price.

im really interested to see if this will be the sensor in the A7SIII. If so, it may just be an instant buy.

Sony continue to lead the way all over the market place.

I'm spending a bit of time investigating anamorphic lens choices emerging for various formats - this one is a precursor ( hopefully) for 35mm/FF formats - the 1.88 stretch on a MFT chip produces nice results - my interest is for stills use.
