    Question re Sigma 14mm lens

I recently purchased a Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Lens for Sony E. My primary use will be for landscape and possible astrophotography. The lens weighs 2.6 pounds (1170 grams). There is no tripod collar and I am wondering about the stress on the e-mount. (The same question would also apply to the Nikon and Canon versions.) I spoke with Sigma this a.m. and they said it should be no problem. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

It's probably fine, but I too would feel better with a tripod collar on such a heavy lens. Here's a good article comparing a few options that work with the 14mm Sigma - https://wild-places.com/2018/11/18/r...igma-1-8-14mm/

If it was me, I'd go for the iShoot; I've used some of their stuff on other lenses, with good results.

Thank you very much. Good to know that others share my concern. I'm going to give the iShoot a try.
