Kipon adapter for Mamiya AF / Schneider-Kreuznach lenses

First off, if this has been asked prior, please direct me to it.

My primary camera is a Phase One XF, and my other system is (soon to be formerly) a Nikon D3x, but now I just purchased a Sony A&R IV. I just got a MetaBones Nikon to Sony adaptor, but need a Mamiya AF / Schneider-Kreuznach to Sony adaptor. While the Kipon adaptor is available, their descriptions tend to be vague at best. Kipon states that the adaptor has electronic connections, and therefore allow for aperture adjustments, I would like to confirm before spending $385 on one.

Anyone use one? Anyone know if they work?

Thanks

Hi James: good luck with your A7RIV. I cannot speak about the Mamaya adapter, but I have an A7RII, and used to have Nikon equipment. This was a year or so ago, but the AF adapter I bought only worked with about half of my Nikon lenses. I sure hope they have improved the adapters by now.

Try contacting Kipon directly. I did about an issue and they were great. Good advice and service for me. Worth a try.

I have the Mamiya version - note that there are two versions, the Mamiya version and the Schneider version, which is 100$ more expensive. it works great on my Sony A7ii, focusing manually is very easy with the viewfinder and aperture and focal length are communicated directly.
