Hi all .

What's the best choice for a wide lens at the moment ?

I heard CZ will soon release one , is it true ?

well, I hope they do. I have the 16-35 and its great but I rather have a smaller prime.

BTW, the 16-35 is my least used lens. I rarely use it.

There's no real indication if and when a wide angle Zeiss prime will come. I would consider looking into m42 or Leica mount. If you need AF, and don't want to deal with the big zooms, you may consider the Minolta AF 24mm 2.8 or the better Minolta 28mm f2.

I have never tried to use it w/ my A900. My 16/2.8 FE is collecting dust. :)
But, I wouldn't call it a WA lens, it's a special lens like macros, STF etc.

It is reasonably wide on A900 :) especially if you don't have the 16-35. I suspect the 16FE is sharper in corner than 16-35 ...

I think that A900 + 16FE + 24-70 + 70-200 + 70-400 is a cool kit .
On a better budget too :D

reasonably wide-like 180° with distortion- :D on A900. LOL !

especially if you don't have the 16-35.
in a way, yes!

I think so.

I'm more like prime lens guy. But, 70-400 looks interesting.

On a better budget too :D
no question about that.
