Grrrr. Where in the world are my adapters???? One of them is on a slow-boat-from-China.

These look beautiful. How about some reports on how they are working?

Re: Fun with the NEX cameras....

Hi Cindy, just got home around 9:30 last night so no time or light to shoot. Will work with them this weekend.
These did take a long time to arrive - mostly from their "landing in the US (new york???) on the 12th until they got to me on the 22nd. (ordered July 5th)

I'm not wild about the LTM version. the lens comes to a rest at an odd angle so that the aperture and dial is almost lined up at a 90 degree angle to the top of the camera rather than spot on with the m-mount version. That means the focus tab is just in the wrong place. I may try and send that one back for a second m-mount as I have all of the LTM to M Voigtlander adapters already.

Re: Fun with the NEX cameras....

I have just tested the NEX-5 in a local store and have just to say ... wow! As a user of compacts for years I'm really impressed by the speed and the image quality. Just one thing annoyed me: The camera needed more than 3 seconds to start. Is this normal or was this just an exception?

Unfortunately they hadn't the double lens kit, so I have to wait again ... Really bad situation. :( The other thing is the color. Haven't seen the silver one yet, but I think it would look better with the E-mount-lenses, but the black is also nice. Can anyone help me?

Can't wait. Thanks anyway,
Hannes

Red Admiral on the Cone flower with the kit zoom.

I should have used manual focus. The AF hit the wrong spot for perfect focus.

I don't find turn-on speed a problem. I just turn it on once. Then I let it go to sleep and just a tap of the shutter button wakes it up.
Terry has posted camera porn photos of both the silver and black bodies in this thread.

I've seen them, but it would really help to see both side by side using the kit lenses.

The turn-on-time just annoyed me because I thought it would be around 1.5 seconds.

Re: Fun with the NEX cameras....

Mine turn on and off pretty instantly. Although on occasion I've seen it be slow. (I think I read somewhere that it was dependent on what mode you were in on pawed down.) I know this was addresses in the firmware update that I haven't done yet. In practice it isn't something that has been a problem.

Re: Fun with the NEX cameras....

I went out for a bit after work. Fog was coming in which can make a mess of pictures around the bay. Nothing remotely special but this should give an idea of this lens with camera/sensor. This first set is with the 50mm pre-asph lux. All jpegs....I really want to have RAW support.

Terry, I can't wait for my M adapter to arrive. The 35 cron ASPH is a lens that I love, and it's small size and FL should really suit the NEX. The 50 looks great!

Next up is my 35mm color skopar. more work to do but I don't think it is good on the NEX.
