I am really glad with your last sentence and if you allow me I may use it some time for a promotional text.

Lately I have been selling quiet a few of these series to art collecters, what makes me feel less quilty in spending my money on photographic gear.

Especially this one has been quiet popular. I almost sold the whole edition, 90 x 60 cm on aluminium with a matte protection folie.

Re: Fun with the Sony A7 and A7r series

I can not compete with Michiels Windowdressing (my admiration) oc, but i like stores and shop windows as well, not only as a photographic object, i think they show a lot about the place and this goes fare off the economic side. They can tell sometimes more about the "Genius Loci" then other buildings etc...

If possible i try to mix inside/outside and include mirror effects.

Here is one more from Firenze (Zeiss ZE 18/3.5):

In New Orleans on business. What a great city. Visited the French quarter and the Spotted Cat Club for some jazz. A7r @6400 ISO, Zeiss 24-70mm.

Feel free to use it if you like, no problem. I'm not surprised that they sell well, they are great pictures. You seem to have so many of them that they could also appear in a book ?

I made some example books at a bookprinter and I was talking to an art book publisher here in the Netherlands but it didn't work out yet. But I think I will find a publisher for it eventually. I forgot about blurb books because I can't get the files to them.

Another problem is when is it finished? Because I am still working on it and I don't feel the pictures I take on this subject are getting worth yet. I made a selection of about 70 good ones till now.

French quarter Friday night in New Orleans. Seriously low light! A7r, 24-70mm Zeiss, 1/50 sec F/4, ISO 6400

Processed in Camera raw, the noise is very reminiscent of high ISO film, not unpleasant, and the resolution is high enough that it does not impact the shot too much.

Very nice utility room set, Godfrey. I really enjoy strong graphical themes, however mundane the subject. A couple of my own below.

Hi Michiel, this guy (?) is all over Amsterdam and active for a long time. Over the years I've collected quite a few texts ! Look for renovation or innovation building works and check the boardings.

    Kind regards.

Apologies, it's not an a7(R) picture (an ordinary A850 one) but I was struck by this in June 2011, where the contrast between the message of the text and the padlock caught my eye. Never did anything with the pic until today however. Never thought this was from a guy who produced a lot more of these.

For some reason or other it was the picture by Knorp earlier, that made me remember this one I took in Wells Cathedral (Somerset) a couple of weeks back.

Seriously, you are turning out great stuff since you retired - it's tough not to get inspired. I did manage to avoid the Sigma thing though.

I'm not a member, but I suspect that because the members have so many exceptionally expensive cars, that the membership list is kept secret.
Here is a Ferrari F50, that was there today. Just over 300 were ever made and I believe that they sell for more than $500K. Cars of this value are not uncommon at club meetings, but very rare.
I expect that the members who are very friendly, and love to talk cars, probably want to maintain a low profile.
Everyone takes a deep breath, when someone puts there grandson behind the wheel of one of these cars for a driving lesson. Actually a very common event.

Barry thanks for posting these. I love the first one as it's exactly what I'm looking for. This lens has a nice look, it gets a bad rap for being big on a M camera. Which for me means its small. Lol

Last night at 20:30-21:30 various buildings in London turned off their lights for an hour in support of the WWF Earth Hour, designed to concentrate our minds on saving the planet. This is Parliament Square in London, with the usual lit bell tower of Big Ben in darkness.

    All handheld high-iso capture, A7 + 55/1.8 and 35/2.8

Can't decide if I prefer the colour or b&w conversion of this capture.

You can see the dim outline of St Paul's in this shot taken from Waterloo Bridge.

    You're most welcome Guy,
Actually I think the first shot was taken at f1.2 and not f2 judging by the circular highlights (and vignetting)...Although I can't be certain as my memory is shaky on this shot.
The lens has a 12 blade iris which is pretty circular throughout, giving you a very pleasant OoF most of the time at all focusing distances.
I use a Voigtlander (VME) standard FE to Leica mount adapter which the lens fits nice and snug on without any wobble + It focuses to infinity (Not beyond) and doesn't vignette the rear lens element onto the sensor at any of the focal distances...It also matches in black nicely...rather than using a third party adapter.

    Cheers Barry

    A7R with Petri 135mm f/3.5 (M42 mount) along with a test shot.
I compared side by side with the Canon FD 135/3.5 and I like the Petri MUCH better.

The numbered apeture ring opens the aperture, the ring behind the silver band closes the aperture, never seen that before.

Sony A7R and Sony Sonnar T* FE 35mm f/2.8 ZA
This is the 1st picture taken with the A7R outside. Very impressive camera!
I am very impressed with the B & W conversion.
This gentleman was kind enough to let me take his picture.
