Hi Bart, I would love to give you an amusing story of how the place came by it's name today...but the sad truth is what was once affectionately known (by us at least) as the Studland Manor House Hotel is now part of a small chain of boutique (PIG) Hotels...
    THE PIG New Forest, Hampshire
THE PIG-in the wall Historic Southampton, Hampshire
THE PIG-near Bath The Mendip Hills, Somerset
THE PIG-on the beach Studland, Dorset
THE PIG-at Combe Otter Valley, Devon
THE PIG-at Bridge Place Garden of England, Kent
Alison and myself decided to re-visit just out of curiosity for a spot of light lunch...We had stayed here previously many times before way back in the 80's, as a relaxed quiet getaway retreat from the daily pressures of work.
The food and service were just fine (although it was busy and hectic), yet the soul seemed to have gone right out of place with it's modern day make over!
I guess we have just grown old and still have a longing for the way things used to be.

    A couple of more pigs...

We had a beautiful rainbow last week.

    A7ii + Voigtländer APO Lanthar 65/2 macro

After taking the photo I immediately ran out to that tree to get the pot of gold that you can find at the bottom of every rainbow, but someone else must have gotten there before me, because it was gone when I arrived

    Re: Fun With Sony Cameras

An image I reworked from a Sony A7RII + Contax G 45/2 Planar file taken about 4 years ago. It was shot in a small garden tucked into the back of the Cooperative Extension office in Ithaca. A weathered memorial bench with a morning glory vine to the left. The beautiful blue blossoms were like small spotlights aimed at the old bench.

So, with all the excitement of getting a bargain (ish) Pen F, on eBay, I've not been given the A7II a lot of love of late. From last weekend with love (and some help from C1 Pro for Sony):

    Re: Fun With Sony Cameras

The Antwerp Tower used to be an office skyscraper near the central station that was built in the early 70's and didn't anymore meet the requirements that are put on modern offices these days. Energy consumption of the building was huge and it got the questionable honour to feature in the "top 20" of ugliest buildings in Europe

At this moment it's being fully renovated, which consists of a complete stripping, extending the floors with ~3 meter on all sides and adding 4 stories on top. The new use will be luxury appartments and penthouses. It's supposed to be finished late 2020/early 2021.

Last Sunday it was "Open Construction Site Day" in Belgium so I subscribed to a visit of this tower. There were elevators up to the 10th floor (about half way up) where you could roam around and enjoy the views over the city. Unfortunately no other floors could be visited (especially the higher ones would have given even better views).

Unfortunately it was quite hazy, but here's some impressions:

1: Looking west over the old city

LR stitch of 3 handheld landscape shots

2: Looking down on the Teniersplaats

3: Room with a view (to the north)

4: Also looking to the north

5: Keyserlei and the railway station

6: Looking down on the Keyserlei - Van Ertbornstreet - Quellinstreet Crossing

7: The Kipdorpbrug crossing is still under construction (as well as an archeological site)

8: Looking down on the new Opera metro station (and the Teniersplaats)

9: They still have some work on the flooring

10: The outside of the tower, you can see how far they got adding the extensions as well as where the elevators brought the visitors
