Good to see you back, Barry. You've been missed. I'll check in with Karl-Heinz. I have his email but haven't heard from him since last November.

    I just heard from Karl-Heinz:
    Many thanks Joe.

    So far so good.
    Staying isolated and safe.
I trust you and your family are doing the same.
    Good luck to you all.
Two days after Easter having had my 72nd birthday, I can't afford to take chances.

    With kind regards, Karl-Heinz
I'm sure he wouldn't mind my sharing the message with you all. I'm 72 also and fully understand his carefulness.

    Joe

Great to hear you're OK K.-H. Staying safe and healthy is a top priority

The wild white azaleas came into bloom in our garden last weekend, here's a shot with my old and trusty A700 and Minolta 100/2.8 macro. For this type of shots I think this > 12 year old camera (and even older lens) still works remakably well

    Re: Fun With Sony Cameras

Took a walk up to lower Enfield Falls in Treman Park with the Sony A7RII + Samyang AF 18/2.8. We don't have a real spring in this area and typically we jump from winter weather to summer in a few days or even hours in late May. I don't know what planet the people in the last photo are from, but no resident of the area would even think about going swimming here after waking up to heavy frost and hearing accumulating snow forecast for tomorrow and the weekend.

Not too hot here today, with waves of lake effect snow and graupel moving through all day. All with A7RII and Sigma 24-105 f/4 Art lens with MC-11 adapter.

Our son dropped off a hanging basket with fuchsia for Mothers Day but we have to keep it indoors for awhile until weather improves.

Thanks Dave, that's a shot from May 2014, my last business trip to the US before I retired later that year.
I'm always scanning through my old photo's for things to post, these times even more than during "normal" times when I'm more out and about.

A few first outing hand held shots with my new Sony A7RIV and old Sigma 24-105 Art lens. Stewart Park near old boathouse. All at f/8, auto ISO. Click for larger image (I uploaded jpegs processed from raw and downsized 50%). I sold my MF gear to finance this venture so now I am firmly back in Sony land with this camera, my A7R2, and many old lenses to work with.

Very nice, Alan. I like this one a lot. It's an optimistic image. And the DOF at f/5.6 is amazing.

Thank's very much Joe. I think it reflects my mood at being able to get out now and the fact that spring has burst into life around here! As for the aperture, well if you look closely at the far distance it does soften a little but has no real need to be pin sharp imo.

Couple of shots taken with the A7RIV + CV Nokton 40/1.2 outside the Home Depot while waiting for my plant shopping wife.

Two more shots with the A7RIV and the CV 65mm f/2 APO-Lanthar. Click the first image for full size pixel peeping view.

The wind ruined this shot, but color is good.
