I dabbled with astrophotography a couple years ago and would take a series of images (up to 50 per night) that was then stacked in software before sending it to photoshop. You need a very dark night, a telescope capable of tracking your target and a way of capturing the image. I remember freezing various parts off while doing this but getting great images - none like Pugh.
