    HCB, photoshopped?

Check out this video from HCB, around the 1:00 min mark: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ea3E_8otCME

I was a little shocked to see that HCB's photos were being photoshopped!

Perhaps a little naive, but for some reason I had this ideal that all of HCBs photos just came out perfect.

    What do you all think?

Yes yes, I do remember that as well. He said in one interview he never had an interest in developing the film. He would always just send it off to be printed. Often he wouldnt even see his prints until they were in a magazine.

On another note - Ansel says it very well at about the 4:10 min mark: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWhQGU2RYuM

I am not surprised at all.
It is just part of the modern production process.

I watched through the entire thing, all 5 parts, just wow, lots to take away with me.

    Hey Edmund,

Cartier-Bresson printed his work early on, but admits printing was not his skill. He did not develop much of his own film either. He was a "clicker."

Over the years he used one printer for most of his work. I guess with the demands of publication, scanning, and other media photoshop came it as a way for them to match to his original hand prints.

    Great video, thanks for sending.

    Best-Adam
