Two who passed on either side of the years' divide (11/30 & 01/12).

It is of course a strong counterpoint to read of the Christenberry history of shooting with --for so long, and returning to ...-- the Brownie (amidst the current noise about at least 20mpx sine qua non, etc.).

Bygone era of some great photographic images. It takes both talent, being in the right places at the right time and of course a bit of luck for all of it to come together. That's usually the way it happens. Nice!

You can add a lot of photographers to this list:

Lord Snowdon: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/jan/13/lord-snowdon-obituary
Howard Bingham: https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2016/dec/27/howard-bingham-obituary
Billy Name: https://www.theguardian.com/artandd...name-andy-warhol-factory-photographer-dies-76
Bill Cunningham: https://www.theguardian.com/fashion/2016/jun/26/bill-cunningham-legendary-photographer-dies-aged-87
Malick Sidibé: https://www.theguardian.com/artandd...ies-aged-80-malian-photographer-eye-of-bamako

While not a photographer, John Berger was an influential art critic on many disciplines including photography: https://www.theguardian.com/books/2017/jan/02/john-berger-art-critic-and-author-dies-aged-90

Still, these folks had a good long run. Unfortunately, the number of photojournalist killed this year is disturbingly high. Their lives were cut all too short.
