Maybe not my best self-portrait ever, but one of my favorites:

I would say that one counts double!

PS: Was/is she really a green-eyed redhead, or did you help that out in post?

The avatar is me, obviously, but that was some six or seven years ago. Here's a more recent version, from two weeks ago. Old man checking out the merchandise

Yes, I agree. It's a nice chair, but I didn't actually make it myself. The chair, that is.
As for the model, I think my mother made him. With some help from my father

Ah, and Viablex, that last portrait of yours, the yellow one, is excellent

I really wanted to put up a self portrait of me but I wouldn't give myself permission to do so. Then I threatened to sue me if I did post a self portrait. The whole idea of me exploiting my likeness without compensating me, no modeling release ... where does it all end?

Has anyone seem a half-full bottle of scotch laying around? I know it's here somewhere.

You are slowly dragging me (kicking and screaming) towards actually liking portraits that are out of focus and blurred from camera shake. Maybe it's because you are the subject of so many of them. I like this one.

I just noticed this thread. Cool work here.

A couple of self portraits and a few other portraits ...

The 3 panel one is my wife Susan, others of my pals ... the theme portrait of the 1950s quasi-innocent gal is a sample to get clients to do themed staged portraits.

The two of me need to be updated (glasses and M, yellow room in LA) ... tick tock ... my hair is greying now, but looks good with my Hasselblad H camera

Great shots Marc. The first photo of your wife is fantastic. Is she half-Japanese? She has a very unique (and beautiful) look. She reminds me of the models I often saw when I was living in Japan. They often chose models who were half-Japanese, or Western, but with some Japanese features. I think advertisers liked them because they were Japanese (and as such, familiar), but also had a Western flair, which is popular there.
    ANYWAY.
Here is a photo my dad took of me when he visited me in Iceland. It is at the parking lot for Sejalandfoss, for anyone who has been here...

And here is a 15mm portrait using my grandfather's Leica III (1934 I believe).
My photos are here: http://www.stuartrichardson.com and more recent work here: http://stuartrichardson.tumblr.com/ Please have a look at my book!

A couple of visiting models, I have told all the others to stay away for a while...
Lilliana, my grand daughter (the youngest), Seraphina, my daughter, and Cynthia, my understanding and tolerant wife.
This was a setup for some passport shots for my daughter, but then they started horsing around.

From my Contarex. Had to copy the print with my GR-DII.

Does a photgraph of a portrait count as a self portrait. The only portrait my mother (art teacher and professional artist) ever did of me other than one full fencing outfit in pastel when I was fencing in college. I fenced the epee.

I haven't done portraits to any great extent before, but I've been practicing a lot lately on portraits of my two new family members. My favorite so far:
