    Happy Bloomsday....

"STATELY, PLUMP BUCK MULLIGAN CAME FROM THE STAIRHEAD, bearing a bowl of lather on which a mirror and a razor lay crossed."

And so starts the greatest novel in the English language.

Which all happens on today in 1904's Dublin.

"The market wants a Leica to be a Leica: the inheritor of tradition, the subject of lore, and indisputably a mark of status to own."

    Hi John

a worthy reminder . . . this is something which amused me recently . . . . . the dinner party from hell

One should probably have kidney AND bananas for breakfast today, so that one can celebrate Mr Pynchon in the same breath.

Yes, a kidney and banana breakfast would be just the thing.

    HI John
I think so . . it might even be nice, but I'd be tempted to replace the pigs kidney with lamb . . .or possibly calf.

But I am english, and therefore extremely buttoned up, but the reference was not accidental, I hope you appreciate that

    all the very best wishes.

. . . . and isn't it splendid to be so wonderfully obscure

It's a city wide gig nowadays.

And if you trace the route on a map of Dublin, you find it's a question mark -- or so I was told.

Once in France, my wife by accident ordered lamb kidneys. She miss took rognon for ragout. Thinking she was getting a lamb stew. The waiter keep asking her if she was English. I got an extra dish at that lunch....
