Out new e-book "Mastering HD Video with your DSLR"

This is a plug for our own e-book. It was written to save other people a lot of time to learn making movies with these new HDSLRs.

looks interesting .. but can I suggest you post a few example pages/chapters so we can get a better feel for the content or post some reviews. Dropping 30 bucks on the strength of an index list doesn't work for me

Will look into it. Good idea. It is a book for beginners and that is likely not you.

understood its not for me... I am interested in the e-book model of selling information.. but do think the price you will pay for something you have browsed in a bookshop and something you pay blind as an ebook are different.

my other thought is that you sell chapter by chapter at a couple of bucks each. Most of the information you are trying to present is freely available if you search long enough. Its not the core information you are selling but the presentation of it in a context that appeals to your target market that adds the value

    cheers

All is available :-). But if a book saves you 3 hours in your normal life it maybe worth it. When I did software development I bought books if they got me 3 new ideas (before the internet though).

I sell e-books since 2002. But then I was kind of unique (maybe I published the first books on RAW processing). Today many prefer a printed book. I hope the iPad changes this. Searching in a printed book is bad but also reading a book on a notebook is not great either.

Followed your advice. Sample Text and TOC now online.

Your e-book looks very worthwhile and I think I will get it. I have the same philosophy as you. If a book provides you with just one idea that saves time or informs you about something new to you--it is worth the money.

My complaint about e-books and magazines is that they are laid out like printed material with two facing pages. This makes it very difficult to read as you have to scroll both horizontally and vertically. This forum, for instance, would be much more difficult to read if it was laid out like a book so that you had to scroll down, then across, then down, etc.

Is it possible you can lay out your ebook like this forum with pages stacked vertically so that you only have to scroll down?

In general it is possible. In this case the pages are not that big.
